Why Health Insurance is Important
It is imperative that you obtain health insurance—especially if you do not already have coverage in your home country—because health and medical care in the U.S. is very expensive.
The U.S. does not have a national health-care system. Therefore, treatment for a serious illness or injury without health insurance can lead not only to physical and psychological hardship but also to severe financial burden. Such a situation could significantly disrupt your ability to learn English and achieve your academic or career goals.
